berkley stone
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Classes, choreography, and private lessons at Lore Dance Collective are established under the creative direction of Dance Instructor and Choreographer, Berkley Stone.
Berkley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Human Sciences from Texas Tech University and she's a certified dance educator through Dance Master's of America. She is also the current Choreography/Coach for the Monterey High School Pom Squad (24-25 season) and has been part of Showtime International Dance Company staff since 2019.
Berkley has both competed and instructed dance for nine+ years, leading numerous dancers to regional wins, titles, and a national championship in 2024. Her unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and excellence in dance has made her a respected figure in the Lubbock dance community and abroad.


As Creative Director of Lore Dance Collective, Berkley's focus is comprehensive growth, prioritizing both the artistic skills and personal development of her dancers. Her approach is tailored to the individuality of each dancer, nurturing their unique strengths and goals. By fostering a positive environment, she guides dancers to surpass their perceived limits, elevating their confidence, skill level, and overall performance. This personalized method ensures that every member of the collective receives the specific support and challenges they need to flourish.

A proud alumna of her high school drill team, Lynsey served as an officer throughout all four years, gaining valuable leadership and experience. She continued her education at Texas Tech University, earning a degree in Dance. With a deep love for teaching and choreography, Lynsey currently shares her expertise with students at Lubbock-Cooper Middle School. She's committed to inspiring young dancers, helping them build confidence, technique, and a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.

Lore Dance Collective hosts weekly classes for recreational and competitive dancers Monday through Thursday. Our core curriculum includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Technique, and Tumbling.

ballet
As the foundation of all dance, Ballet teaches highly formalized steps and gestures for strength, fluidity, and grace. Ballet classes at Lore utilize Cicchetti and Vaganova ballet techniques, vocabulary, proper posture, and precision as fundamental skills to harness sophisticated movements in dance.

jazz
Jazz emphasizes attitude and sharp, energetic movements set to the complex harmonies of popular music. At Lore, dancers explore this style through bold body isolations, improvisation, expressive combinations, and dynamic choreography. Musical theatre and improv techniques are also incorporated into Jazz classes at Lore.

tap
Tap is a rhythmic dance style that enhances musicality and encourages students to become percussionists of the stage. Tap classes at Lore focus on timing, rhythm, and intricate footwork patterns to develop natural dance movements and personal style. Musical theatre and improv techniques are incorporated into select Tap classes at Lore.

contemporary
Drawing inspiration from ballet, jazz and other modern styles, contemporary/lyrical is an expressive and unconventional dance style. Lore Contemporary classes nurture fluidity, creativity, and emotion to convey unique expressions and mature movement quality. Lyrical styles and improv techniques are also incorporated into contemporary classes at Lore.

hip-hop
Hip-Hop is a high-energy urban dance style that originates from street dance and displays a distinct, confident style. Lore Hip-Hop classes are focused on rhythm, attitude, and freestyle movements, often incorporating popping and breaking elements. Improv and freestyle techniques are a regular part of hip-hop class at Lore.

Technique is essential to mastering any dance genre as it determines a dancer's physical proficiency and movement. Lore technique classes utilize intense strength, flexibility, timing training with a focus on proper body holds and techniques to improve execution of skills and stylistic accuracy.

tumbling
Tumbling is important for developing range in dance through acrobatic skills such aerials, kip ups, bank hand springs, etc. Lore tumbling classes are focused on the development of select performance skills, combinations, advanced floor work and unique tumbling passes.

pom prep
Pom Prep is designed to prepare young dancers for auditions and participation on school affiliated pom squads. These classes are meant to help develop necessary dance expertise, pom technique, and performance skills specific to pom-style routines. Pom Prep at Lore is focused on precision and synchronization through jazz and hip-hop styles typical in pom routines.
